AVA Youth Scholarship 2011

Alki Volleyball Association will again offer an annual AVA Youth Volleyball Scholarship.

The AVA, leading promoters of beach volleyball events at Alki Beach in Seattle, is working to support the growth of beach volleyball in the local community.

A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded at the end of the summer season to one individual player, between the ages of 12 and 18, based on these criteria: participation and sportsmanship.

The AVA Volleyball scholarship will be paid to the USA Volleyball recognized club team of the player’s choice, in the Puget Sound Region and is intended to go towards club costs for that player.

To apply for the AVA scholarship, sign-up in person at any AVA tournament. Application deadline is August 28, every year.

The AVA hosts youth events, as well as Sunday Novice divisions in which youth players can play with either someone of their similar age or with an adult player, to gain experience.

Winner of the scholarship will be announced by October 1st.
